From the milestone "100 Series" originating in 1957, in which Solido of France pioneered features such as spring suspension, opening doors and tilting seatbacks. All models were to a true 1:43 scale, accurate of line and well finished for their day. They were arguably the first "adult" collectible die-cast vehicles. All examples on auction are original pieces from the 1950s and 60s - not latter-day reproductions. is the deep blue metallic Lola, with a racing number "1" decal applied over the usual number 19. From all appearances this was done by the factory, but it cannot be said with certainty. Another slightly unusual feature is that the rear suspension radius rods are in their natural grey finish rather than plated. Condition is as-new including glazing, plating, driver figure, early-style spun wheels, treaded tyres, axles and cast metal base plate. The original card box is in good overall with ballpoint graffiti in a few places, and light shelf and handling wear.
