Welcome to one of many listings featuring The original 1940's illustrations of Henry "Hank" Fournier Now being offered in my eBay store are many listings showcasing the artwork of amateur artist Henry “Hank” Fournier (1913-1999). Most of these works are from his portfolio dating from the late 1930’s to the early 1940’s. His works mainly includes sports and pop-culture figures of his day. His prime love was for boxing but also included football, hockey, baseball, and more. Before detailing this listing, here is a quick biography of Mr. Fournier. He was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts. Having enlisted after the US entered WWII, Corporal Fournier spent most of 1942 stationed at the 57 th General Hospital at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts. In 1943 he was transferred to the 39 th General Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand where he remained until the end of the war. Many years later his love for sports led him to employment by the New York Mets baseball organization where he served as part of the administrative staff where his duties were focused on both spring training camps as well as minor league operations. After approximately 10 years he took a similar job with the St. Louis Cardinals. Through documentation, photos, and scrapbooking, much of his life has been preserved.
