Hi everyone! As I finished this lamp I realized that it is the first one I've ever done with a total Cardigan Welsh Corgi theme--guess it's about time! I've sculpted ten Cardis enjoying and populating this lighthouse--looking out from the top, at the windows, diving in the door and showing off fishing efforts out in the front. I love doing lighthouses and I've collected many different ones in greenware--this one is unlike any I've done before and won't be repeated. For this one I began with a plain greenware lighthouse, made by pouring liquid clay into a mold. I made and handpainted the sign and the nautical flags that hang around the top--they spell out "Cardis Rule." Once everything was painted in great detail and attached together with liquid clay, the sculpture was put through two high temperature kiln firings that left it with a permanent glazed finish. I've signed and dated this in the back, Barbie Sonnett 2007. Measurements: this lamp is a great medium size on the larger side, it is 21" from the bottom of the base to the top of the lampshade. The wood base is 7" in
