Sony E-mount adapted KONICA 40mm f1.8 Hexanon "Pancake" Manual Focus Prime Lens - 7088216Offered is a semi-legendary Konica 40mm f1.8 Hexanon "pancake" manual focus prime lens, adapted for use on a Sony E-mount "mirrorless" Interchangeable Lens Camera. This is definitely a "cult lens", and is either the best-kept or worst-kept secret, depending on who you are talking to. To the knowledgeable, it is considered one of the sharpest, most colorful small format optics you can shoot through. The Konica faithful are only matched in enthusiasm by the Pentaxians, and they snap up the exotic Hexanons as soon as they learn of one being available. Until recently they were almost free, as they are longer than other 35mm lenses, and could only be used on Konica 35mm film cameras. All of that has changed with the introduction of the "mirrorless" Interchangeable Lens Cameras. The super-short mount flange-to-sensor plane distances of an ILC makes adapting AR mount lenses a snap. It is hard to imagine a more suitable lens to have on a diminutive Sony NEX than one of these gems.I have recently learned that the new Sony A7 II has a metal bayonet that does not fit well with most aftermarket adapters.
