South African Cookery Made Easy By Mrs. P. W. de Klerk Published by Juta & Co.; Cape Town and Johannesburg. 1924. No edition stated. Hardcover. No dustjacket. Small 12mo (7 1/2" X 5"). 220 pages. Very scarce early cookbook from South Africa. It reflects the diet and food preparation methods of white South Africans of Dutch and British ancestry. Condition External: Moderate shelfwear with some sunning/discoloration to spine and light staining on rear cover. Illustrated front cover remains bright. Dusting/browning to page edges. Internal: Light foxing/staining to pastedowns and endpages with address stamp and small bookstore sticker at front. Binding is tight and all pages are intact and clean but they are heavily browned with age. Overall condition is Fair+. Full refund if book is not as described. Free USPS shipping within USA.
