This issue of Southern Immigrant, March 1898, is devoted to Illinois Central Railroad, south of the Ohio R. Front cover is photo of Illinois Central RR station, Chicago; back cover is map showing details of route and towns on railroad. Many communities highlighted, including Yazoo Valley, Dyersburg, McComb City, Newbern, Orion, West Point, Port Gibson, and other information. Full page print of Cairo Bridge, plus many photos of scenes, buildings, crops. Size is 10-3/4 x 14-3/4 with 22pp. Has been folded in half with slit along tear about 1-1/2" on back cover. One pp has corner tear. Information about climate, resources, products, to encourage immigration to Southern states.
