Here is a really wonderful southern pot that I happened upon earlier in the summer. Several collectors told me that that it was Alabama (and found there too), circa mid 20th century. A truly fine example of uncommon kitchen/tableware. Albany slip glazed. Stands 6" tall by 8" from spout lip to handle. Nearly mint condition, with a glaze pop/pinprick to lip and lid. Enjoyed it as a fine Alabama pot, but my focus is more on the Carolinas. An important note to add ... from what I consider one of the foremost experts of Alabama pottery, I was informed this teapot is attributable to the late potter Norman Smith of Alabama. Norman was most famous for his pig figurals, high on the collecting list of many southern pottery fans.Shipping of $18, includes double boxing, insurance, USPS. NC sales tax will included for NC residents. Please also take a web trip to our website, ncpottery.com, to view some other southern pottery treasures!
