.257 Magnum. 25" barrel length. SN: 5280. Blued metal finish with a jeweled bolt. Walnut Monte Carlo-style stock (possibly claro walnut) has multi point skip-line checkering to pistol grip and forearm, as well as a rosewood forend cap and grip cap with diamond pearl inlay. Stock has ivory spacers to forend cap and grip cap, as well as ebony and ivory spacers to butt. Forend has a diamond shaped silver nameplate etched ARTHUR GODFREY Radio and television personality, surrounded by a diamond shaped blonde wood inlay. Item features sporterized Mauser 98 action, rubber recoil pad, jeweled follower plate, and a Meiji 3-9x32mm scope with German-style reticle. Markings include WEATHERBY/SOUTH GATE, CALIF to left of receiver ring, and WEATHERBY/257 MAGNUM on left side of barrel. Floorplate is decorated with foliate scroll engravings and WEATHERBY CUSTOM marks. Included with item is a leather sling with pressed foliage and punch dot designs. The rifle ships with a Weatherby Certificate of Authenticity signed by the company's President, Roy E. Weatherby, Jr., and historian Dean Rumbaugh. According the the certificate, the rifle was shipped to Arthur Godfrey on November 27, 1957. Condition:Good. Bore is minty.
