Embossed Red Cloth Hardcover with gilt lettering and design on spine. Previous owners inscription and small bookseller sticker (J.W. Seccomb, Bookseller & Stationer, Rockford, Illinois) on front pastedown, otherwise clean with no marks. Light foxing throughout. Binding Tight. Slight lean. 236 pages. Notes: In remarkably good condition overall. An attractive little 150 year old copy of a scarce book. One of three publications of a series of Arthur's Home Stories. Stories in this book are 1) Sowing The Wind, 2) Growing Beautiful, 3) Unforgotten Words, 4) The Store Girl, 5) The Broken Merchant, 6) Not Thought Of, 7) Long Afterwards and 8) Somebody. Sowing in the Wind is 119 pages with all remaining stories averaging around 15 pages each.
