COUNTRY of ORIGIN : Spanish Monarchy --------------------------- 2. CONTEXT : The Order of Civil Merit (Orden del Mérito Civil) was instituted by King Alphonso XIII on 25 June 1926 to be awarded for outstanding meritorious service in the civil sphere. It was abolished by the Republic in 1931 and re-instituted by Generalissimo Franco on 7 November 1942. THIS Medal a pre-1931 version and is the Knight Class (Caballero). --------------------------- 3. ENGRAVER : no attribution --------------------------- 4. COMPOSITION : appears to be Gilt Silver and Enamel --------------------------- 5. MINTMARK(S) : none --------------------------- 6. CONDITION : Excellent – ribbon slightly dirty --------------------------- 7. DIMENSIONS : main medallion - 50 mm x 49 mm; with ribbon 118 mm long --------------------------- 8. WIDTH : 7 mm at center (four-part construction) --------------------------- 9. WEIGHT : 40 grams (does not include weight of packaging supplies). --------------------------- 10. POSTAGE : we only send packages First Class – the package is coming from FRANCE. The prices we quote below are ONLY for this one item. We DO combine multiple wins to lower your overall postage cost. The French post office raised postal rates again as of 2 March 2009. It is starting to get complicated – but we will ALWAYS try to get you the lowest postage costs possible. Also, the US Dollar is still quite weak against the Euro, thus postal costs from us will reflect the relatively high exchange rate – there, of course, is nothing we can do about that. European Union and Switzerland: $2.40 Rest of the World (including US): $3.70 --------------------------- If you want your package sent Registered , that is an ADDITIONAL flat fee of $6.00 (prices went up) – this is independent of the First Class postage fee. If you want Registered, please let us know once we send you the initial invoice. eBay changed some rules, so we would need to send you a New Invoice with the additional $6.00 included in the postage price. You will be AUTOMATICALLY Insured for your entire amount. --------------------------- We guarantee to send your item within three business days following receipt of your payment. Most of our packages are received by the recipients in two weeks or less . But there are occasions when the postal system is slow and your package may take longer to be delivered. This, of course, is completely beyond our control . All we can ask is for you to be patient and accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Also note that if you have your package sent Registered , but it has not been delivered in what you believe is a reasonable timeframe, please contact us. We must mention though that France’s LaPoste can not start a search until 30 days after the package was sent. These are the rules and realities we must all accept.
