I am pleased to offer this trio of items from the Spanish American War and the 161st Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regimental Band. These items were purchased in Indiana. I was told that the cartridge box and the handmade letter opener belonged to the gentleman in the tintype who also carved the letter opener. I have some information that I have found on the internet that may offer a clue as to who the man in the tintype is and the instrument he played. These items are in very good condition, the letter opener is 8" in length, the cartridge box is 6 1/4" wide and 3 3/4" tall. I will not break up this trio, as this is how I found them. The tintype is very small only about 1" by 1" but I have placed it in a frame for protection.
