Spanish Army Shoulder PouchOriginal [I'm guessing] Spanish Army shoulder pouch, black leather construction featuring flap secured with brass stud, wide sewn belt loop, and adjustable shoulder strap with brass frame and tongue buckle, leather shoulder pad, and circular brass swivels. Center of flap, lower right corner of pouch body on front, and lower right corner of rear are marked with oval CASA FLAQUER stamp. Pouch measures 7 x 6 1/4 x 2 7/8 inches.Leather on the pouch itself is still quite pliable. Shoulder strap is somewhat drier than the pouch with corresponding age cracks but nothing broken or missing. Inside of pouch appears to have had a cloth loop or strap sewn under rear edge of flap--this strap has long since been removed.I did a search for "Spanish Army leather accoutrements 1898" and did find a uniform display with an identical shoulder strap, but photo did not show the pouch itself. Pouch came in a small group of WW1 items I recently acquired that had all been in the same family for years. Could possibly also be Mexican issue from the Revolutionary period of the early 1900s. Whatever the case, a very interesting, well-made piece of military leather field equipment and is in very good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
