We believe this compass was used to determine speed or time when being used with a map. The eleven numbered points allow easy conversion of distances. An excellent tool when interpolating Loran, or plot Comes in an attractive plastic holding case. Would make a wonderful gift for any maritime/ naval enthusiast. Item has some signs of aging but in all is in good condition.
