SPECIAL SALE! This sensational original lithograph is by French artist, Bernard Berthois-Rigal. Titled Ancient Secrets, the piece is hand-signed and numbered from a limited edition of 225, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Dimensions: 25" x 44-1/2" image, 29-3/4" x 48" sheet. The piece is in excellent condition, with minor soft handling creases in the outer corners. Retail is $2500. Auction estimates: $450-$550. Bernard Berthois-Rigal (b.1927) began painting in 1955, at the age of twenty-eight, with no formal training. His works represented a brilliant cross between surrealism and realism. In 1960 he stopped painting because he felt no one understood his art, however, in 1973, one of his paintings was published as a greeting card which encouraged him to paint again. He developed a unique technique, employing tissue paper, watercolors, gouache, and inks.
