One of the finest football display pieces we have seen. Circa 1930s magnificently large 30" x 34" cardboard diecut depicts a stellar gridder of the era in rare form. From the days when college football ruled and players such as he were gods of the terra firma, the colors are eye-popping with a touch of darkness to give it that smoky vintage stadium feel. It reads across the bottom "Chesterfield - they satisfy, One will always stand out!" with a stand-up pack of Chesterfield cigarettes. This mind-expanding piece is in VG-EX or better condition with creasing on the player's waist that shows evidence of restoration and a fold on the top part of the helmet. Archivally mounted in a 37-1/4" x 32-3/4" custom Lucite frame, the cost of which is $500 alone! Comes with a smaller version of the same sign which is not complete (the advertising is only partial), otherwise EX condition with some edge wear, same mounting. The first we have seen of either of these killers!
