Splendid Pheasant Plate Hand Painted Richard Budd Coalport Here we present for auction a very fine hand painted plate by the celebrated ex-Royal Worcester artist Richard Budd. The plate shows a pheasant cock and two hens in a white winter landscape. The plate is exceptionally well painted with fine detail such as the robin perched on the tree and the realism of the cock. RIchard Budd is remembered primarily as a Royal Worcester painter however he worked for several other manufacturers including Coalport for whom this plate was painted. He has become much sought after especially since his death in 2002. This really is a fabulous plate signed Richard Budd and fully backstamped Coalport with a 22ct. gold gadrooned border. The plate is in excellent condition and would make a fine addition to any collection of this artist or quality twentieth century English porcelain.
