THIS IS THE 1929 BUHL CA-6 SESQUIPLANE "SPOKANE SUN-GOD" 9th IN THE SERIES THIS IS THE SPECIAL 2001 TEXACO COLLECTOR'S EDITION BRUSHED FINISH IT'S A VERY NICE PIECE WILL MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO YOU'R COLLECTION NEW IN BOX NEVER DISPLAYED OR PLAYED WITH ONLY OUT OF BOX FOR PHOTO PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU HAV ANY QUESTIONS In 1929,when transcontinential flight was in its infancy, the Spokane Sun-God,piloted by Nick Mamer,with mechanic Art Walker,became the first airplane to make a non-stop round trip transcontinential flight. A section of the fuselage was removed so that a fuel hose could be received in flight. The Sun-God was fueled with Texaco aviation gasoline and lubricated with Texaco airplane oil,as were the five refueling planes. On August 15,1929,the plane lifted off from Spokane's Felts Field at 6:00 p.m. and flew to Bellforte,Pennsylvania before returning to land at Felts Field at 6:01 p.m.,August 20. The Spokane Sun-God remained aloft for 120 hours, one minute and 40 seconds, flew 10,000 air miles, and established a world's record for non-stop flight of 7,200 linear miles. The Buhl Aircraft Company was founded in 1925, and ceased operations in 1933. Aircraft Specs.
