Thanks for looking at my auctions. Offered is: A VERY SCARCE variant of the popular DURKINS jugs. In the late 1800's & early 1900's, James (better known as Jimmy) Durkins did a lot of Whiskey and Wine business in Spokane, Washington. He put his products into a HUGE variety of containers which makes them highly popular with todays collectors. Several of his STONEWARE jugs are very common, but this is not one of them. It may not be the rarest either but it can be VERY TOUGH to find, even scacer than the other Durkins I have listed and especially in this AMAZING CONDITION. T really are no problems with the jug, other than a couple of small, flat flakes, it just shows it's age with the normal crazing lines under the glaze. The lettering is quite crisp and clear. It is a One Gallon (1 Gal.) size, just right for displaying. It has the SPOKANE POTTERY stamp on the bottom. We have had this jug in our collection for a number of years, it is one of the best examples of this jug I've seen. I will also be listing several other not so common Northwest jugs so be looking. I am starting them at less than I believe they are worth and will simply let them go to the highest bidder. We need to make room. I will be offering quite a few items in the next few days / weeks as we are downsizing for retirement. Many items are directly from our own personal read more
