Sporting News Nov 28 1956 MICKEY MANTLE cover + article ITEM DESCRIPTION: A few people have each time I've offered these, so for the sake of total clarity this is not a reprint but a totally original vintage issue of The Sporting News issued at the date in the title Oversized magazine printed on newsprint, measures appx. 12" X 16-1/2". Classic Sporting News from when it was "The Baseball Paper of the World"! Including several articles covering many other players, usually at least something from each team; winter ball coverage; The separately numbered 10-page "The All-Sports News" section covering football 30 pages plus 10-page "The All-Sports News" section for 40 pages total. Photos, beginning with the front cover and taking a peek inside at some of the highlights of this issue: GRADING - CONDITION: Complete 1956 Sporting News issue grades VG-EX or 4.5/10 with a small piece, about a half inch, torn at top edge of back cover against the spine; small piece torn from top corner of page 15/16; approximately 1-inch closed tear into edge of page with Mantle article; otherwise just some even age toning throughout the issue and some very light edge wear.
