The 'Wanda' outfit from Vogue's 1953 Tiny Miss series is an ever-popular outfit. You can see one similar on p. 117 of the Izen/Stover Ginny Encyclopedia. This particular version is a little rare because the flowers are pink instead of the more typical yellow flowers uses in the fabric. The dress is tagged with the still crisp 1953 Vogue tag inside, and it has no stains, rips, spots, holes. The only problem I see with the dress is that its ribbon ties are frayed and, in some spots, weak as if they will tear at some point. Fortunately, the areas where the stress of the tied bow is greatest is not the area of weakness. The hat is the same straw and color that I have always seen with the 'Wanda' outfit. Even the same yellow flower decoration is present. Its the shape of the hat that seems different to me. I have seen a flatter and wider brim with this outfit. This one is almost a beehive style. Perhaps either hat was acceptable. I have seen that with other Vogue outfits.......At any rate, the hat is in very good condition, and the velveteen ties are strong.
