I am offering some nice knives this week of various types. I have done my best to list or show in my pictures any problems or defects, and to describe them accurately. If anyone has knowledge about a particular knife, please feel free to contact me, and I will try to revise my description or add the information. Take a moment to check out the other auctions. Thanks for looking, and good luck with your bidding! This is a big, sturdy knife from the early days of the "Byrd" line of knives produced for Spyderco. The Byrd knives are an economy line of knives made to Spyderco's specifications in China to make them more affordable. This particular model has been discontinued. The knife is all steel, along the lines of the Endura. Blade has an upswept tip and is partially serrated with an all black finish. It has jimping along the ramp for a better grip. Opens by means of a curved, teardrop shaped hole. Handle is also black. Mid-lock design with cutout to prevent disengaging the lock when the knife is gripped tightly, such as in stressful situations. Lock up on this one is rock solid. It has been used, carried, and sharpened. Needs to be re-sharpened before use. This one does not have its original pocket clip. I bought a replacement clip from Spyderco, but the black clip wasn't available, so this one is silver/stainless. Works fine, but doesn't match the knife. For a user, it will work. Stenciled on one side with "byrd/8Cr13MoV" (the numbers indicate the type of stainless steel) and on the other side with "TM" inside an oval along with "China" on ricasso. Really good knives for the money. Specs, according to Spyderco: Closed length: 4.75". Blade length: 3.875". Open length 8.625". Contact me with any questions. It can be Registered, which will allow tracking, along with a Return Receipt which shows delivery. The cost for these two services adds $16.45 ($12.95 for Registered, $3.50 for Return Receipt). Priority Mail can be insured but not Registered. If sent without insurance, only $64.66 can be recovered. Insurance can be purchased up to $5000. A Return Receipt can be added to this for the same $3.50 fee. Express Mail includes a tracking number from me to you, and includes insurance up to $100. You can also purchase more insurance for items valued over $100. If you choose not to have it shipped by Express Mail, you agree that you will be held solely responsible if your package does not arrive for any reason, or is damaged in transit by actions of the postal service. Packages can be held up at Customs, or confiscated, lost or stolen. I will send an invoice at the end of the auction with the shipping cost, and advise you of the additional services. If you only pay the listed price, and choose not to contact me and agree to those tracking services, I assume no liability whatsoever once I put the package in the mail.
