ELMO Augusta J Evans - RARE 1867 Boxed NY Edition Description:The most popular 19th century novel by a woman. is an 1867 First Edition, printed in New York two years after the Civil War ended (see below).Boxed in a slipcase. In very good condition. No foxing. No inscrptions. Wear to box. Sun fading to spine. Boards nice and clean, spine tight. Some 8 or 10 creased pages (improper or drunken use of the slipcase, methinks) are rather a distraction from an otherwise very good book overall (see photo). Very readable bright pages which with a little more exposure (due to quality of paper) would be hopelessly toned.
