Here is a truly exceptional old American medal made of brass or bronze, in quite fine condition overall, measuring app. 1 & 1/2" across, with a plain edge. This classic piece of 19th century midwestern state history shows just moderate wear, and it has good color, with full detail, some tiny imperfections nothing too serious. Hopefully, the scans will indicate the quality of this interesting medal, and two have been "enhanced" for clarity. Have you seen another? I haven't. The obverse features a pleased-looking donkey or jackass with a leg up, facing left, with "Get A Home In Missouri" around, a miniscule "S.C. Adams. St.L." beneath. "The 'Show Me' State" is around the top, with stars at the sides and "300,000 Farms Awaiting Owners." at the bottom. The center of the reverse reads "Write For News About Farm Homes In Missouri - Cheap Easy Terms", with stars and dots around. "Missouri State Board Of Immigration" is at the top, with "816 Wright Bldg. St. Louis." at the bottom. Wow. $9.99
