Rare Staffordshire George Whitfield Toby Jug circa 1820 Rare, unusual and extremely early peice of staffordshire (1820-1825) Modelled on the famous methodist preacher George Whitfield - also known as the night watchman. He is holding his hat and lamp and his coat is moulded into the base There is some wear and loss to paintwork typical of these very early potted pieces. Dimensions: 9 inches tall Condition: Good condition apart from - Lots of crazing / hairlines – see pics. Also what looks like a small chip on the base – but I believe is actually a manufacturing fault as it is completely smooth to the touch.
