This is the nicest example of the very uncommon 100 ½ model makers block plane I have ever seen. The japanning is pretty much all there and it does not appear to have ever been sharpened. This design was suggested to Stanley by a model yacht builder from Massachusetts in the 1930’s and first cataloged in 1936. Its sole is convex both toe to heel (12" radius) and side to side (7/8" radius) to enable the user to smooth a hollow in a piece of wood. The blade bears the BB trademark (Stanley in a notched rectangle) which together with the black japanned lever cap date it to 1936-41. It will ship by itself in a small priority flat rate mail box ($5.80 in the US). This is one of a number of very nice old tools I am offering without reserve this week; I always combine shipping so bear in mind that a lot more tools will fit in a medium ($12.35 in the US) or large ($16.85 in the US) priority flat rate box. I will ship worldwide at actual cost. This is a NO RESERVE auction!!!!!
