For Auction: Stanley #9 Cabinet Maker's Block Plane. This plane retains a good amount of it's original japanning. The cutting iron is full length and stamped with the AA trademark. The back of the plane, w the tail handle mounts, is damage-free. The tail handle is in good condition and the rosewood knob is solid, showing only normal toolbox wear. The brass adjuster knob is marked "BAILEY'S PATENT AUG. 31, 1858 AUG. 6, 1867". The throat is damage-free and adjusts properly. "E. BERG" stamped his name neatly on the side of the plane in 1/8 inch block letters. The lever cap is correct and damage-free but has some surface casting flaws. T is a fine hairline crack on the forward sidewall radiating up 1/4 inch and a small radius crack at the bottom of the same sidewall (see photo #6). These issues are minor but worthy of consideration. Check out my photos to confirm condition. For questions or additional photos contact me at . I will respond as soon as possible.
