Please check out the pictures below Very nice Stanley #4 with orange tote and 95%original japanning that has been properly cleaned, tuned, sharpened and Ready To Use. ... There are no cracks, chips, pits, stripped threads or repairs on the metal and the knob and tote are solid. I've tested this plane (as I do with all of them) and it works just like Leonard Bailey designed it to do . In other words, it's a very nice smoother and will take a shaving of less than .001" in Sapele, a notoriously hard wood to plane. This one works better than most. ... The plane has had it's sole checked for flatness and has been lapped as necessary. The frog has been checked to make sure it fits tight and flat in the body. The chip breaker has been fitted to the cutting iron which has had its back flattened and polished. The bevel has been re-ground and honed to a 1 micron edge (final sharpening step is .5 micron chrome oxide film). ... This plane has been fully adjusted and is Ready To Use right out of the box.
