This is a Stanley Sweetheart No 40 1/2 Scrub Plane with Japaning all round...all in great antique condition . Here are the details: Stanley 40 1/2 Scrub Plane Great antique condition Manufactured between 1902 and 1948 10-1/2" long x 1-7/8" wide x 4-1/2" tall x 2 lbs. - 3 oz. Sweetheart SW blade is 1-1/2" wide Japaning is about 95% complete on the inside and about 75% complete on the outside Beech wood handles are free of cracks and chips that we can detect Smooth sole - there is a small convex deformation on each end of the sole where the plane was dropped long ago Brass handle screws and knurled steel clamping knob No patent dates Body marked STANLEY MADE IN USA No 40 1/2 254 B (inside) Blade marked STANLEY SW MADE IN USA This tool has been carefully cleaned, a coat of wax applied, and hand buffed This is a really great specimen.Please study the pictures and email with any questions.
