You are admiring another longtime favorite of collectors & a true wonder of Nature, a Guildfordia yoka (Jousseaume, 1888) measuring 90.9mm and graded F++/Gem...an absolutely incredible form with amazing spines & a fantastic color pattern is displayed...an exceptional, very deep H2O specimen. This beauty was collected in tangle nets at 150-200m off Balicasag Island, Philippines. A member of the Turbinidae family which make excellent compliments in any collection. Thanks for visiting our store today...great to see you again.****about as good a quality grading as we see with this very deep H2O species. Reminds me of something Kenneth Wye wrote about this species, "It is amazing that perfect specimens survive after being fished from their habitat in depths possibly as low as 1,650 feet (500m). I could not agree more.****also, be sure to check out the Guildfordia yoka's sister species, the Guildfordia triumphans (Triumphant Star) also available for purchase in our store. They really compliment each other in a collection display.
