Vintage communicator prop made by Jim Kirk who had a company called Starfleet Command way back in the 1970's. He made communicators (as well as phasers & tricorders) from 1976 thru 1995. These were the first full size real props ever mass produced for the public. Very high quality and very accurate for their time. Communicator is made of vacuformed abs plastic shells and features alluminum midplate, control plate, control knobs, jewel rings, and morie ring. The small speaker grill is brass and the antenna grid is made of steel. Very nice condition and still includes the jewel rings. Alot of these rings are missing when you come accross one of these rare communicators but this one is complete. Low starting bid and no reserve. Note: The Starfleet Command magazine ad is from 1977
