Crystal Description: Staurolite Twin (60 degree) crystal specimen. Dark brown to brownish black in color & sharply faced. Schist matrix mostly, removed. There are reddish trapezohedral garnet crystals attached to the Staurolite specimen. I left the garnets on the Staurolite purposely rather than having a big hole where the garnets attach if they were removed. Twinning habit is the interpenetration type. ORIGIN: Taos County New Mexico. FRACTURES: None. Specimen comes with "perky" box and label.Dimensions are approx. Length 22.22 mm Width 17.50 mm.
