1990/91 Steiff "Alfonzo" Mint in Box. 13" in his cossack costume. His number is 3652. Made exclusively for Teddy Bears of Witney store in England in an edition of 5000 pcs. This is the original large version of the bear. ( a smaller miniature was also made-but this is the more desirable size) He is all original with certificate and is in perfect condition. He is made to resemble the original 1908 bear and is made of distressed mohair, stuffed with wood excelsior, and has a growler. Comes in his original box and outer box. This bear is a replica of a 1908 bear belonging to Princess Xenia Georgievna, second cousin of Tsar Nicholas II. He was probably given to her by her father George Michailovich, Grand Duke of Russia. This bear was sold in 1989 by a direct descendent of Princess Xenia. It now resides at Teddy Bears of Witney in England . He is a highly sought after bear and very hard to find now. If you are a serious Steiff collector, this is a bear you need in your collection! He comes from my collection and has been preserved and cared for. Payment via Paypal is due at auction close.
