This viewer is the companion item for the Stereo Realist camera that created the 35mm 3D stereo photography craze through the 1950s. The Stereo Realist format was copied throughout the industry, and ultimately supported by Kodak in processing and mounting of Kodachrome stereo slides, so that while made for the Stereo Realist this viewer will work for all brands of 35mm stereo cameras (except for the Viewmaster cameras, which made slides for the round "Viewmaster discs"). This viewer is in its original dirty and shelf-worn box. The viewer itself is in very good condition with two exceptions: there is a small chip in the Bakelite plastic housing along the seam where the two halves join together, and the terminals in the battery compartment are badly corroded. The chip is not highly visible and has no functional effect, and I think the terminals would probably be possible to clean up with a bit of effort. Good viewers for 35mm stereo slides are getting harder to come by, and the Stereo Realist viewer, like their camera, is the best of them all. This item is part of a collection that I am selling for the family of an old friend who has passed away. Because these are not my items, I CANNOT accept returns - all sales are final. Please take this into account when bidding. All sales are to addresses within the United States ONLY. Thank
