Stereopticon Viewer & 22 Vintage Slides Antique Stereopticon Viewer and Twenty-Two Stereo Slides Viewer - made of wood and metal, this old viewer has some nice details. The wood appears to be maple, including some curly maple with very nice grain. The handle attaches with a metal hinge bracket that allows the wood handle to fold up. A metal hanger bracket is attached under the slide holders to allow the unit to be stored or displayed on a hook. The metal shade includes some fine engraving decorations. Overall, this piece is in fair to good condition. The wood shows some wear, and the metal has some dings and scratched. The padded liner around the edge of the metal is all gone except for some residue w it was originally glued. The lenses are both in good condition, reasonably clear, and the viewer still creates a good image. Slides: This collection of 22 slides includes a variety of themes from landscapes, to monuments, to staged figures, to religious icons. Most slides are fair condition. All are curved from being stored upright, and all are faded. Most have worn edges and some have bent corners. Several have broken and missing corners (see photos) All still work in the viewer and deliver an interest display. Many are marked on the edge or back with an indication of w the photos were taken and who published the slide. Publishers
