Group of six Stereoviews of Guernsey scenes taken around 1860. .All anonymous as to publisher or photographer. All nice condition, top corners of photo prints cut rounded before being mounted on card.. All cards have manuscript captions to the reverse. An interesting little group for anyone who knows the area. 3 views on Scan 1 illustrated as follows:-- Top Grey buff mount . Manuscript caption - "Wreck of the "Offspring" in Grand Havre, Guernsey November 11th 1859" Rather sedate and disappointing after the caption. Instead of a dramatic shipwreck with debris all around the "Offspring" appears unscathed and looks as if it has been washed up onto the beach by a high tide. Centre - Grey buff mount. Manuscript caption - "Taleris (??) Harbour" . "Guernsey". ) Lower. Yellow mount. Manuscript caption - "Elizabeth College, Guernsey". showing what aoppears to be the main entrance to an institution.Second Scan. Brown mount Manuscript caption - "Queens Road, Guernsey" Two large houses in grounds behind the trees Brown mount Manuscript caption. "? ?Lave at Roquelle? Guernsey". Third picture a Church.
