Lovely Demitasse or Chocolate Pot Manchester Silver Monogram 'GKM' (I think) Offered at auction is a beautifully preserved demitasse or chocolate pot. This pot is in beautiful condition. It has been sitting on my shelf waiting for the right opportunity to find a good home. That opportunity came when I happened across a creamer and sugar in a different, yet similar pattern. I figured that this little chocolate pot's time had come. The pot stands 8 3/4 inches tall and is 7 from handle to spout. It weighs a respectable 435 grams or just a hair under 14 troy ounces. It stand straight and level. The attached lid seats perfectly and t are no dings, dents, or scratches other than the minimal use and storage scratches expected from estate sterling. The hinge operation is smooth and clean. The dark colored heat separators are aged, yet intact. The insides are relatively clean and show no corrosion. I see no evidence to indicate that this piece was ever dropped or abused. These would be beautiful coupled with a sugar and creamer of similar styling, if you happen to be lucky enough to have such a set. If not, I happened across a creamer and sugar that while different, pick up some of the same detailing as this glorious piece. They are pictured in the very last photo and are available in another 'No Reserve' auction this week. Please view the pictures carefully. I generally take my photographs outside in sunlight to accurately depict the colors and conditions of the items I am offering. If you see any discolorations or other anomalies that would indicate damage, it is either the sun, the clouds, the trees, or me. I try to fully and faithfully disclose any irregularities I find but I am far from perfect and some things may escape my detection. Also, when damage (no matter how minute) I try to make sure that it is clearly depicted in the photos. I believe that I have described the above auction offering accurately and in detail. They belong to a friend who is in the precious metals business. He has a warehouse that is stockpiled with sterling items that he has purchased over the last 28 years of business, including more than 100 different silver flatware sets. With the soaring price of silver, he had decided to send them all to the smelter to be melted down. Instead, I convinced him to let me try to offer them on Ebay so that they would not be destroyed. I know that t are silver lovers out t that wish to harken back to the days of genteel dining and gracious living. Besides, I have come to genuinely appreciate anything that is older than me and still survives. Due to recent complications with International bidders and shipping policies, I will only ship via Express Mail International with full insurance.
