These 8 Chinese scholar ink pots have glass liners that appear to have a crack in the bottom but in reality it is a simulated crack by using a different color glass. THIS was done to simulate an imperfection because the Chinese believed that perfection would upset the gods. Each silver frame is chop marked and stamped STERLING. The survival of all 8 pieces with liners is quite extraordinary. This is a probably early 20th Century China collection. For the Chinese export silver collector, or just someone who loves quality. The weight of each ink pot is 1.55 oz., the dimensions are 1.75"wide and 1.50" in height. WE SPECIAL PRIMARILY IN SILVER. WE HAVE SILVER PIECES FROM US, EUROPE AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD.
