A BEAUTIFUL STERLING SILVER PHOTO FRAME, HALLMARKED SHEFFIELD 1992, MAKER: CARR'S OF SHEFFIELD LTD I DO NOT DO BUY IT NOW SO PLEASE DON'T ASK This item has been relisted due to the winning bidder failing to make any contact at all. This is a beautiful Sterling silver picture frame, It was made by Carr's of Sheffield Ltd of Holbrook Avenue, Sheffield and then hallmarked at the Sheffield assay office in 1992.It measures 9 1/2 inches (241mm) by 8 inches (203mm). The lower centre carries the British Sterling silver hallmarks for Sheffield 1992 and the makers mark 'RC' for Carr's of Sheffield Ltd. It The internal size is 7 3/8 inches (287)mm by 5 3/8 inches (137mm)It weighs in on my scales at 15 1/2 ounces, (440 grams). It is very well made, the silver being thicker than sometimes found on this kind of frame, the silver is decorated with teardrop gadrooning between two lines of beads, there is a large vacant cartouche to the top. It is free from engraving and personalisation.The back is covered with a blue velvet material and there is a removable panel secured by four rotating tags. It is supported by an easel stand. The interior is lined with blue satin.Condition of the silver is excellent with the start of a nice patination, there is no rubbing through of the silver. There blue velvet is in good order save for some a few polish stains. Please see the pictures.The estimated safe packed weight is 800 grams.
