Fabulous Frederick Carder Steuben acid etched torchiere shade in a dramatic matte black over ruby color combination. It is shown in Paul Gardner's "The Glass of Frederick Carder" on page 231. The shape is also shown on the Carder Steuben club web site, but no color photo is available. The shade is 10 1/2" tall with a 2 1/2" fitter rim and an opening of 7" at the top. The shade has two factory cut notches on the fitter rim to secure the shade onto a base (I do not have the base). There is a minor chip on the fitter rim typical for shades. Other than that, the shade is in excellent condition. Satisfaction guaranteed. Shipping cost via UPS will be $30.00 including insurance - the shade is large and heavy.I forgot to mention that this is shape number 8554 and is shown in the line drawings with this acid etched decoration. I would surmise that this shape will only be done in this pattern and in this color combination. Based on the shape number I believe that this is a late production piece.
