Steuben Flower Plates Designed by artist, Don Wier, in 1948 Diameter: 8 3/8" Steuben Item: # 8194 Presented , is a beautiful flower, expertly engraved by Steuben's artists. In 1948, Steuben introduced a series of 12 Flower Plates. Each one was hand designed by artist, Don Wier. A summary of Mr. Wier's biography is shown in a picture below. It was taken from the book written by Mary Jean Madigan, "Steuben Glass." In the same book, on page 318, are pictures of the whole set of 12 Flower Plates. The plate in this listing is 1 of 3 that I am offering for sale today. I have 3 more that I will be gradually placing on eBay over the coming weeks. All of them are in similar condition. CONDITION : This flower plate has some very minor scratches, on the top and bottom, most of which look like dust specs. A few others are shallow, yet longer. Overall, considering the age of this plate, it is in excellent condition. On the side of the rim, the plate is signed , Steuben . It will arrive in its original protective Steuben bag (which is a bit faded.)
