These steel stirrups originated with the French Army saddles. They were adopted by the US army for the M1917 Officer's Saddles (see pictures). Also issued with the French Marquis saddles in Armerican inventory after WW1.These Stirrups are in sound condition. Photos of the saddle come from "Hand Book for Quartermasters 1930". No markings found. Smooth rust browned surface with some original finish showing.I bought these in a lot of US M1911 steel stirrups from an army surplus warehouse in Texas about 30 years ago. Shipping if in the States will be $6.00 Priority.
