This Japanese straight razor seems to be about 35 years old or so. The handle is made from what appears to be something like bakelite, and has the brand name, "Vasser", inlaid in what appears to be something like solder. The marking on one side of the tang is "Vasser", while on the other side it says that it either comes from or is approved by the Japan Barbers' Blade Makers Association.This razor appears to have almost never been used, and never to have been sharpened after it was made. Further, t are use-scratches anyw on the blade or handle (although t are some on the spine, which look like they come from the production process, not from use). The only signs of age are a few very small spots on the blade, but they do not appear to be oxidation, and a bit of dustiness on the inside of the handle. It comes with a plastic wrapper which may not be original to it, since the label inside it gives the brand as "Yasuki Hagane", although the English-language description on the label is likely just as accurate concerning this razor: "This material 'shaving razor,' using the named 'Yasuki Steel' made of refined charcoal iron materials, is produced under the severe process of production, and guaranteed for its quality."
