You are bidding on a large (huge) ladle from the International Stratford Pattern. This is the coolest Art Nouveau pattern I have ever seen. I believe International came out with the pattern around 1903. If you like Nouveau, you cannot do better than this stunning piece. When I say it is big, I mean it is the biggest ladle I have seen, which makes it a wonderful display piece as well. it is 10" long and weighs nearly 7 oz. on my mailing scale. I believe this to be a pretty rare piece. I have seen little of the pattern and serving peices like this are few and far between. It is mongramed with "D" and is from my own family heirlooms. I am not a professional seller or silver dealer, I am just downsizing. Yes, t is some wear from use but I cannot see any gouges, or dent - it appears to have surface scratching from storage and use. T is some deeper but smaller scratching inside the bowl. I would think the light scratches could be buffed like new. I am not a silver expert, in fact I am not even knowledgeable about it. I did not polish or clean it in any way for the photos. I am giving my lay person's observations, so please consult an expert if you need an expert opinion.
