One very powerful radium watch hand (i.e. thick radium paint) from new old U.S. Navy stock (1950s). These hands, out of their sealed packet, measure at upwards of 40,000 counts per minute (CPM) on a 1.5" pancake probe geiger counter (1/8" from probe). Comes sealed in lead foil packet. Note that the hand does not glow because the zinc sulphide (what actually glows, excited by the alpha from the radium) is exhausted. However, the radium is still perfectly "hot".
