The item for sale is a Stuart Double 10 Vertical Steam Engine. Most of the engine appears to have been machined but never put together. All the castings are there and the only thing that appears to be missing is the crankshaft. I believe that a crankshaft could be fabricated or perhaps Stuarts still sell the casting for this. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the machining of this engine as I bought it in a job lot from a workshop a number of years ago. This would make a good project for some model engineer who has some time on his hands. Being sold with the engine is the Book - "Building a Steam Engine from Castings" by Edgar T Westbury and there is also one sheet of plans for the engine. The height of the engine is 6 1/8", Width 3"; Length 5 1/2".
