200 years old and in great condition.This seems to be the 1808 1st edition of the English translation from the German by Rev. Balfour. (Pocket Edition) I can't find reference to an earlier one in research and it isn't mentioned anyw in the book either. This book is very interesting I hope you can read the contents page. It contains treatises on how the Church views sins and violence etc commited by animals towards humans and towards each other. And also chapters just in wonder at gods Natural Kingdom. Very detailed observations of Butterflys and Ants and animal eyes and fish, various species, mountains even winds... absolutely marvelous. Has a lovely old hard binding. No pencil markings or signatures and the pages are crisp and all are present (281). Printed in 1808 by T. Davison, Whitefriars for Robert Scholey, Paternoster Row, London. M. Keene, Dublin and A. Constable, Edinburgh. P These books I am listing tonite all came from a Georgian House on the Key in Waterford City, Ireland, and they all belonged to a family called Barton.
