Stunning Antique 22 carat Diamond Moghul Victorian necklace ! Over 725 diamonds, 22 carats ! T is just something undeniably magnetic about Antique & Estate jewels. The Victorian Period was alive with innovation in design and workmanship. Queen Victorian was responsible for many fashion trends that spread throughout the fashion world. An important catalyst of this time developed when Victoria was crowned Empress of India (1876), during the British India rule, tby encouraging trade between the two continents. The profusion of Indian imports included exotic woods, brightly colored silks, enameled and gem encrusted Moghul jewelry, all of which quickly influenced the jewelry and decorative arts produced in England. Jewels encrusted with Rose-cut diamonds and large foiled back, lop-cut diamonds, patterned after Indian fashions quickly worked their way into the English jewelry designs. The result was astonishing designs in Victorian jewelry, with a typical yet very amazing flavor of moghul art of jewelry making. Conforming to a perfect blend of these two cultures, we have this substantial diamond necklace which features large lop cut diamonds in the center and old European cut diamonds all around them, displaying an amazing sparkle of genuine diamonds. This necklace consists of 29 parts, with each part studded with a large rose cut diamond in the centre, further surrounded by 24 old European cut diamonds around it. This necklace has 29 such parts, linked together, to form a stunning diamond studded necklace. This necklace has over 725 diamonds, which calculate to about 22 carats of total diamond weight. The diamonds are sparkling white as shown by the pictures. The necklace is 15mm wide and tapers down to 12mm wide (about 1⁄2 inches) and has over all length of 18.5 inches. It secures through a gold push-in lock and is further secured by two side clasps for added safety. The necklace was hand-made in solid 14kt gold and silver. It weighs 50.5 grams.
