Welcome to another Moorcroft auction. This time up for offer is a rather lovely 1992 "Year Plate". It is both the colours and mesmerising pattern of the centre of this particular piece which stands out. A subtle blend of yellows, lime green, purple and red continually draws you in to the centre of this piece. The different shades of blue ground enhance this outstanding Moorcroft piece. Yes, this particular piece is a silver line item BUT too my eyes at least there is just one small paint run on the underside and totally out of view when on display. This is shown quite clearly in the third photo and to be honest can be the only reason why this has a small silver line next to the WM monogram. My research has shown that by 1992 saw a revival of landscape decoration such as rainforests and seasons. I am unsure as to the name of this design but this particular pattern was probably by Sally Tuffin and depicts foliage with the focal point perhaps sun influenced. Please look closely because the very central aspect is stunning. Maybe the year 1992 is of significance to you or maybe you just want to add an unusual and limited design to your Moorcroft collection.
