This pair of Everlast oversize training gloves that were used by the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson, for sparring during training sessions I have a letter from his son Ray Robinson II confirming this, it reads.My name is Ray Robinson II. I am the son of legendary boxing champion Sugar Ray Robinson and his first wife, Edna Mae Robinson.This letter refers to my father's boxing gloves which he used for sparring during training sessions. These gloves were used by my father in the 1940's and 1950's. They are oversized leather gloves which are now a faded red. There is some leather loss from use. Each glove has a white manufacturer's label on the wrist with the name of the manufacturer, EVERLAST on the label. There are two pairs of gloves, four gloves in total.I certify that these gloves were my father's and were used in training by him in preparation for his fights. These gloves remained in our family untill they were sold to Craig Hamilton of Brookhaven, New York on March 1, 1999. This sale is for only one pair of gloves. There is a letter of Authenticity from Craig Hamilton of Joe Sports,inc, as well. As a collector of boxing memorabilia for the past 22 years, i have come across some excellent pieces.
