MAGNETITE (excellent sharp, lustrous, octahedra) with "creamy" white Feldspar crystals on matrix. Typically the MAGNETITE specimens from this locality are closely grown together, but this one has nice isolation between the crystals. The piece has excellent quality, relatively large, razor sharp, highly lustrous, black, "Alpine-type" octahedra (some are twinned) scattered all over this specimen and associated with cream colored blocky Feldspar crystals on matrix. The largest MAGNETITE crystal measures 1.5 cm. across ! This piece is one of the finer small "cabinet" size specimens from the lot and will display very nicely. It is very hard to convey the quality of these crystals in the photographs, but the crystals of MAGNETITE are extremely good quality and very attractive !! Don't miss out on this one folks! Enjoy ! The one aspect that everybody needs to keep in mind is that you cannot buy better quality MAGNETITE crystals or specimens from a modern locality! The only other crystals that compare to these in my opinion are those from the Binntal in the Swiss Alps, which are next to impossible to obtain because they haven't been found in over 50 years. Also remember that the majority of the Binntal specimens usually have only one or two crystals per specimen! Lastly, t has been a discrepancy regarding the correct locality information
